The name of book is based on Latinized name of Odysseus, who is protagonist in Homer’s epic Odyssey. The book has three parts which include 18 episodes. It is very much in correspondence and contrast to The Odyssey of Homer which have 24 books (sections). The protagonist of novel is Leopold Bloom, and the plot shows his peripatetic encounters on an ordinary day of 16 June 1904 in Dublin. The story draws modern reflection of Homer’s epic poem and contrasts characters like Leopold Bloom and Odysseus, Molly Bloom and Penelope and Dedalus and Telemachus etc.
