The Golden Compass is a very interesting fantasy adventure film of the year 2007 based on Northern Lights. The Golden Compass is the first book in Philip Pullman’s trilogy His Dark Materials. Directed and written by Chris Weitz, it stars, Ian McKellen, Eva Green, Sam Elliott, Daniel Craig, Dakota Blue Richards and Nicole Kidman. It was announced in February 2002 but because of various problems, it was much delayed. The Golden Compass Review:

The film revolves around the adventure of Lyra Belacqua who was an orphan and living in a parallel universe in which a dogmatic ruling power known as Magisterium opposes free inquiry. In that world, children are kidnapped by un unknown group Gobblers which got the support of Magisterium. Lyra joined people from seafarers for a trip towards the north, on which polar bears are residing in order to search for the missing children.
